What’s New at MetricMosaic

Free Trials are Live

Late last week we quietly rolled out free trials for MetricMosaic. After months of building, iterating, and talking to users, it’s finally out there — no more waitlist. And while the idea of opening the doors to real users was a little nerve-wracking at first, I’m now more excited than ever.

We’re starting with a 30-day trial. It’s intentionally generous — we know we’re not as polished as some of the legacy tools in this space (yet). But we are more responsive, more focused, our features are unique and we're way more hands-on. In fact, if you sign up and need something — we’ll likely build it for you. That’s the stage we’re in. We've spun up 100 trial accounts and we pay close attention to every customer.

We’ve also introduced a launch offer: anyone who activates their plan by April 30 will get 80% off for the first 3 months.

From Data-Driven to Story-Driven

MetricMosaic is evolving. When we first launched, we weren’t sure exactly who would connect most with what we were building. Over the last few months of pilot program, that became clear. The segment that connects with MetricMosaic are mid-market Shopify sellers, making big decisions (often with millions of dollars on the line) without the help of dedicated data professionals. They’re overwhelmed by data — not because there’s too little, but because there’s too much, and no clear path to action.

As we interacted with pilot customers, a pattern emerged. They all wanted to be data-driven, but often lacked data experts. They didn’t need more dashboards. They needed clarity.

This realization led us to shift our focus — from data-driven to story-driven.

Humans connect with stories. If we can surface the narrative behind the numbers, we can make it easier for decision-makers to act with confidence.

With that in mind, we’ve been reworking MosaicLive — our conversational interface — to behave more like a good analyst. Not just surfacing data, but actually explaining it. Highlighting anomalies, identifying key drivers, pointing out what changed and why it matters.

We’re not ready to reveal everything yet, but MosaicLive has made huge strides over the past two weeks — and what’s coming next will take its storytelling capabilities even further.

🚀 Key Product Updates

1. Onboarding, Streamlined

We’ve completely reworked our onboarding experience. Users are now greeted by a home screen that includes an interactive checklist to get them up and running. We’ve also refined how new users get set up, including smarter default filters and automatic loading of relevant tables.

2. Improved Data Exploration Experience

We've introduced smarter data filtering — tables without rows are now automatically filtered out of results, so you won’t see empty or irrelevant results during exploration.

3. Visual Tiles Got a Major Upgrade

We’ve added support for richer visuals, and embedded insights directly in MosaicLive (our conversational interface). This gives you more narrative context around the numbers. Time-based charts and area visuals now render more cleanly with improved formatting, tooltips, and row limits for clarity.

4. Smarter GA4 Attribution

We’ve improved how GA4 session data is parsed and displayed, giving you a more accurate view of where your users are coming from and what’s driving results — without any extra setup.

5. Stronger Platform Core

Under the hood, we’ve introduced retry logic, better token management, and multi-business login support. All of this helps keep your data flowing and your dashboards loading reliably, even at scale.
